Rob Hawkins (Michael Stahl-David) is a character in Cloverfield.

J.J. "Hawk" Hawkins

Jason J. "Hawk" Hawkins (Mike Vogel) is a character in Cloverfield. Anyone who calls him a meathead deserves to burn in hell.

Beth McIntyre

Beth McIntyre (Odette Yustman) is a character in Cloverfield.

Marlena Diamond

Marlena Diamond (Lizzy Caplan) is a character in Cloverfield. She is a fashionista.

Lily Ford

Lily Ford (Jessica Lucas) is a character in Cloverfield. She is Hawk's girlfriend.

Hudson "Hud" Platt (T.J. Miller) is a character in Cloverfield. He is a fanboy.

"Mystery Asian Guy"

The "Mystery Asian Guy"
The "Mystery Asian Guy"

The "Mystery Asian Guy" is a character that appears in the teaser trailer, but has no known identity. He is only seen asking "How are you gonna survive without Rob? He's like your main dude". Rob replies with a recursive answer but doesn't name the character.

He does not appear in the theatrical trailer.

"11 Dollars Guy"

The "11 Dollars Guy" is a character that appears in the teaser trailer, but has no known identity. He appears twice, first when he makes his namesake comment "You owe me 11 dollars." and again at the very end, stating "This is going to be the best night ever!"

He also appears in the theatrical trailer, though briefly, and is only visible during the short party scene at the beginning.

Jenn

Jenn (Margot Farley), more commonly known as the "Rob's Awesome Girl", is one of the partygoers in the movie.

Roma Torre

Roma Torre (herself) is the news reader on NY1.

Russian Guy

The Russian Guy is the man seen on the street who speaks frantically to Hud. "Russian Guy" is his listed name in the end credits. HE says (in Russian): "The water god from the North has returned, they cannot kill it with fire. Go back..."

Kantaro Tagruato

Kantaro Tagruato is the founder of Tagruato (presumed deceased).

Ganu Yoshida

Ganu Yoshida is the CEO of Tagruato Corporation who is mentioned numerous times on the Tagruato website and is also named on the Slusho! website's history page. Ganu is the son of Noriko Yoshida, and the cousin of Danno Jo.

Ganu was a brilliant young engineer involved in off-shore drilling activities when he became involved with Tagruato in 1989. Recognizing that Tagruato's predecessor firm, 力の手 (Hand of Power) had fallen on hard times, Ganu and his investors took over the company and removed the previous Board of Directors. They renamed 力の手 to Tagruato, after its initial founder, and began drilling for petroleum underwater. Since then, in the position of CEO, Ganu has helped Tagruato to become a top Japanese company, boasting skyrocketing sales of its Slusho! product, extremely satisfied employees and rising stock prices.

Danno Jo

Danno Jo is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tagruato and is also Ganu's cousin and "right hand man". He is currently involved overseeing the development of "vehicles and machinery that will operate at the same capacity as the bulldozers and cranes you pass on the freeway each day, but also function at the ocean's greatest depths."

He is also probably Ganu's cousin referenced in the history page of the slusho.jp, who took over Noriko Yoshida's drink business after she died and Ganu became an ocean scientist.

Rafu Funaki

Rafu Funaki is the Chairman of the Future Energy Development Committee.

Suzume Soga

Suzume Soga is the main spokeswoman.

Kano Yasuri

Kano Yasuri is the Head of Investor Relations.

Tzigane Koga

Tzigane Koga is the Customer Service representative.

Aki Ito

Aki Ito is the Press consultant.

Suzuki Isoroku

Suzuki Isoroku was the bake-off judge at the 5th annual Tagruato company picnic.

Botan Ajibana

Botan Ajibana is an engineer at Kaika station.

Kita Ijichi

Kita Ijichi is a floor manager at Sujin station.

Aneha Nobuo

Aneha Nobuo is a floor supervisor at Jimmu station, who won first place in the bake-off at the 5th annual Tagruato company picnic for her upside-down pineapple cake. She is mentioned as having five children.

The Whistle Blower

The Whistle Blower is a currently unnamed Tagruato employee who secretly sent out short messages from Chuai station every now and then.

Leclerc

Leclerc was a worker on Chuai Station. His mother was featured in the French news report saying that it is dreadful not knowing any details about her son's status.

Hideaki Sakamoto

Hideaki Sakamoto was one of the seven missing people confirmed by Tagruato to be missing after the collapse of Chuai Station.

Gerhard Ploecker

Gerhard Ploecker was one of the seven missing people confirmed by Tagruato to be missing after the collapse of Chuai Station.

Tsuneo Matsuhara

Tsuneo Matsuhara was one of the seven missing people confirmed by Tagruato to be missing after the collapse of Chuai Station.

Paul Nightingale

Dr. Paul Nightingale was one of the seven missing people confirmed by Tagruato to be missing after the collapse of Chuai Station.

Donald Carter

Donald Carter was one of the seven missing people confirmed by Tagruato to be missing after the collapse of Chuai Station.

Francois Nouvelle

Francois Nouvelle was one of the seven missing people confirmed by Tagruato to be missing after the collapse of Chuai Station.

Ryouta Yoshida

Ryouta Yoshida is a Japanese farmer. His daughter is Noriko Yoshida and his grandson is Ganu Yoshida.

Noriko Yoshida

Noriko Yoshida is the daughter of Ryouta Yoshida, and mother of Ganu Yoshida. She is described on the Slusho site as having been obsessed with beverages, and mixing them in a quest to create an ideal flavor. She used ingredients grown on her father's farm on the island of Honshu. Her beverage creation became an enterprise business. In a search for an ideal ingredient for her beverages, she went on a sea voyage by unspecified means. She was killed on the voyage, however the cause is not stated. The beverage business was turned over to Ganu's cousin, presumed to be Danno Jo.

Mika Srauy

Mika Srauy is Slusho's administrative co-ordinator.

Ben Miyake

Ben Miyake is Slusho's administrative head.

Yoshida Medical Research

Hiro Takahashi

Dr. Hiro Takahashi is a doctor at Yoshida Medical Research whose wife is Akemi Takahashi. He wrote "A Day in the Life of a YMR Doctor" on tagruato.jp to give readers a feel of what Yoshida Medical Research does.

Kazui Ichigawa

Kazui Ichigawa is a deceased marine biologist. He died on 28Sep07, at the age of 63, shortly after retirement, having reportedly made a "magnificent discovery" (only known to him). Ichigawa was found dead, along with the bodies of his wife, daughter and granddaughter, in Daisetsu-San National Park, a popular RV camping area. An early police report stated that they were killed by a gas explosion. Strangely, his computer and files, even the ones in his home safe, have disappeared.

In response, Tagruato's answering machine message changed to:

Fudo Goto is an 11-year-old who was the first baseman in the game against the Nishio Dragons.

Le Bandit Vert

Le Bandit Vert was the founder of Les Guerriers de Mère-Terre. His name is French for 'The Green Bandit'.

TIDOWave

Teddy Hanssen

Teddy Hanssen was Jamie Lascano's long-distance boyfriend. They met at a club called 'Light' in New York and dated briefly before Teddy left to go on an extended trip.

In the fourth video from Jamie, she mentions 'The Cause' and says that Teddy can talk about it all he wants, indicating that Teddy works for TIDOWave.

In the fifth video from Jamie, he tells her that he's been captured by 'a company called Tagruato', but she doesn't believe him, thinking that he was making up an excuse for seeing someone else, and dumps him. He also mysteriously claimed that 'they found something or they're making something'.

On his sister's blog, missingteddyhanssen.blogspot.com, it is confirmed through one of her posts that Teddy was an employee of ParafFUN! Wax Distributors. He quit this job in 2007 to join up with T.I.D.O. Wave. He was last seen on 07Dec07.

Randy

Randy is a prominent figure in TIDOWave.

Margaret

Margaret works for TIDOWave. There is no more information about her.

Janice

Janice works for TIDOWave. Recently she was expected to provide a picture to TIDOWave members of a place to meet after 'The Farm' (presumably their headquarters) had been raided by Tagruato.

Alyse Hanssen is the sister of List of characters#Teddy Hanssen. She runs missingteddyhanssen.blogspot.com, a blog which has been running posts concerning her search for her brother since 20Mar08.

Sarah Nettleute

Sarah Nettleute is the username of Jamie Lascano's photobucket. She may or may not exist as a person in the game. It is speculated that the name "Nettleute" means "good people" in German or the name "Goodman", because the word "Nett" means kind/nice and the word "Leute" means people.

Vernon MacDooble

Vernon MacDooble aka "deliciousmacdoob" is a self-proclaimed food critic who has so far written three restaurant reviews. He seems to travel regularly as the restaurants he has reviewed are in different countries.

Chef Nakamura

Chef Nakamura is the head chef of Garbanzos restaurant. MacDooble describes him as 'long-winded' and capable of going into extreme depths when talking about his food.

Chef Nakamura's brother

Chef Nakamura's brother lives in Japan, and is the one who sent him the recipe for 'chilled poached salmon steak alongside chilled asparagus in mustard vinaigrette'. If Nakamura's brother created the recipe, as is implied, it could also be implied that Nakamura's brother is connected to Tagruato in some way.

Akemi Takahashi

Akemi Takahashi is the wife of Hiro Takahashi.

Morio Hanari

Morio Hanari is editor-in-chief of Tokyo Business Quarterly.

Geoff Jingle

Geoff Jingle is the coach for the Nishio Dragons.

Gamal Mobari

Gamal Mobari is the Tanzanian Energy Correspondent.

Mikhail Khordorkovsky

Mikhail Khordorkovsky, a real person, has an award named after him in the game, the "Khordorkovsky Award for innovation" at the Pacific Oil Conference. While the Pacific Oil Conference is real, the award isn't.

Hiro Chinen

Hiro Chinen is a 98-year-old at the Ibaraki nursing home.

Dr. Abe

Dr. Abe is the author of Ravaille Research Center's report on Seabed's Nectar.

Rie Ichigawa

Rie Ichigawa is the wife of Kazui Ichigawa. She died on 28Sep07, at the age of 55. She was found dead, along with the bodies of Kazui, Norika and Kyoko Ichigawa in Daisetsu-San National Park, a popular RV camping area. An early police report stated that they were killed by a gas explosion.

Norika Ichigawa

Norika Ichigawa is the daughter of Kazui Ichigawa. She died on 28Sep07, at the age of 36. She died on 28Sep07, at the age of 55. She was found dead, along with the bodies of Kazui, Rie and Kyoko Ichigawa in Daisetsu-San National Park, a popular RV camping area. An early police report stated that they were killed by a gas explosion.

Kyoko Ichigawa

Kyoko Ichigawa is the granddaughter of Kazui Ichigawa. She died on 28Sep07, at the age of 10. She died on 28Sep07, at the age of 55. She was found dead, along with the bodies of Kazui, Rie and Norika Ichigawa in Daisetsu-San National Park, a popular RV camping area. An early police report stated that they were killed by a gas explosion.

Toshiro

Toshiro is the son-in-law of Kazui Ichigawa, and is 39 years old (as of 28Sep07). He was away on business at the time of the incident.

Midori Yoshiaki

Midori Yoshiaki is the president of the Japanese Conservationist Society. He awarded Tagruato with the "Green Award" for Suinin Station.

Tojo Kanji

Tojo Kanji was the lead sculptor of the wax statues in the third ParafFun Wax Museum.

Yukawa Heisuke

Yukawa Heisuke is a fish-gutter at Mishima's Marina in Ryukyu.

Tanaka Jokichi

Tanaka Jokichi is the dock captain of Mishima's Marina in Ryukyu. When the Slusho Smilers came for a visit, he threw some fish into a tank that had been filled with banana anime and mentioned that "In my 23 years, I've not seen Yellowtail ever swim so swiftly" and "Yellowtail never jump before! This Slusho! makes all creatures overflow with happy!".

Madame Leclerc

Madama Leclerc is the mother of [[a worker on Chuai Station. She was featured in the French news report saying that it is dreadful not knowing any details about her son's status.

Glen Warner

Glen Warner is the CEO of BevVo, the largest privatized water manufacturer in the game world.

Pickle

Pickle is a spotted Labrador pup who drank the most Slusho at his center and is going to become Ganu's pet (or at least owned by him), according to Slusho! Smiler Yuuka.

Yellowtail

Yellowtail is an unknown type of fish that was thrown back into a tank that had been emptied to be filled with Slusho by Tanaka Jokichi. During this event Yellowtail jumped, the first time s/he had ever done so.

Cloverfield/Kishin

Kishin Aiba

Kishin Aiba is a young high school student, who has been frequently bullied and teased his whole life. He is extremely depressed and withdrawn, due to repressed feelings over the death of his mother some years ago. He is the main character of the Cloverfield/Kishin manga, and in some way or another, has a deep connection to the events prior to the film. The fact that his enraged, tear-stained face is shown up close just before the monster breaks free seems to indicate some sort of connection between the two, though this had yet to be confirmed until it was shown that he temporarily held control over both the monster and the parasites. (this may also help prove the theory that the parasites and the monster are symbiotic or hive-minded)

Aiko Sasahara

Aiko Sasahara is a young female classmate of Kishin, who defends him, and tries to reaffirm his feelings of worthlessness. She, too, has a deceased parent, and deals with her own issues. Kishin admires her strength. She is extremely afraid of mice.

The Bullies

An unnamed group of high schoolers who frequently torment Kishin, and cause his fit of rage that seems to coincide with the awakening of the monster.

Kishin's Mother

A mysterious woman who loved Kishin unconditionally. The root of why Kishin has been bullied his whole life, she is described by others as being "wrong in the head", and "weird". She dies early in Kishin's childhood, prompting his ever-present issues with depression.

Kishin's Father

A cold, callous man, far too busy to bother himself with matters of parenting. A high-ranking executive of the Tagruato Corp., an examination of his office reveals strange human x-rays, clinical records of his own son, and documentation on "Seabed's Nectar". He seems to have full knowledge of the monster's awakening, and even refers to it as the "experimental object". He is heartless towards the event, and orders an emergency plan to see what events unfold. He is seen holding a Slusho soft drink beverage and referring to it as "ironic" in reference to these events.

Kurosaki

A crewman boarded on the Tagruato vessel that was towing the monster, he enjoys showing off cellphone pictures of his pregnant wife. He dreams of returning to her, and could be the famed Whistle Blower, though this is only speculative. He is devoured by the monster. Due to his bleached hair, he is always assumed to be American (this would, however, seem to contradict the theory that he is the Whistle Blower, whose somewhat poor command of the English language and greeting statement in his messages of "American" seem to indicate that he is Japanese). His name is mentioned by his captain in the second chapter.

The Cult

Strange, masked and robed men who abduct Kishin. Their bracelets bear ornaments similar to the monster's claws, and their masks bear a striking resemblance to its face. Their leader has a huge mane of wild hair and wears an ornate robe along with a much more detailed, horned mask. Nothing else is known thus far.
